An airline approved carrier for pint-size pups

Jeep "Urban Traveler" Pet Carrier: The Urban Traveler Pet Carrier is designed for puppies and small dogs on the go. It meets airline carry-on standards for pet carriers, including fitting beneath airplane seats.

I planned to try it out on Harper’s upcoming flight to Oklahoma. It holds pets up to 15 pounds, but 9.6-pound Harper is already too tall and long to fit comfortably inside it.

If your young puppy or toy breed dog is more suited to its dimensions, however, it’s well made, with top and side entries, mesh windows on one side and at the rear for good ventilation, and a sheepskin-covered bottom panel for additional comfort.

A nylon panel can be rolled down over the side mesh window for privacy or rolled up so the dog can see out. It has an adjustable shoulder strap as well as carrying handles. The only thing it really lacks is a pocket of some sort for documentation.

Call it: For pint-size pups on the road or in the air, it’s a good choice.
