Jeep Urban Sling: I first tried this out when Harper was a not-quite-six-pound puppy, just two and a half short months ago.
It’s well constructed of tough polyester with a durable mesh window to give the dog inside a ride with a view, and a section at the front can be left unzipped so the dog can stick his head out as he’s being carried. (He can also wiggle out through it, so be warned.)The bottom panel is held in place with Velcro strips and topped with a soft sheepskin to ensure the dog’s comfort.
The hands-free carrying bag has a wide, adjustable shoulder strap that was more comfortable than I expected, and an adjustable strap that fastens around the waist provides additional support.
The tote is meant for dogs up to 10 pounds. I recently tried it out again with 9.6-pound Harper. Carrying her in it was doable, but I wouldn’t say that either of us found it a comfortable experience. And despite its good qualities, I found it bulky and awkward, even when Harper was smaller. Your mileage may vary.
Call it: Best for young, small pups who haven’t yet completed their vaccinations and shouldn’t run the risk of exposure in public.
The Jeep Urban Sling retails for between $29.99 and $39.99 and is available pet retail-supply outlets nationwide.
The company's website is All Things Jeep and the toll-free phone number is 877-249-0065.
